ADELANTO, San Bernardino County — November 5, 2026. The mayoral contest in Adelanto is another example of how post-election tabulations can change the picture. A county-race table published by NBC Los Angeles shows Stevevonna Evans at 1,562 votes (44.94%), Gabriel Reyes at 1,462 (42.06%), and Ronald Beard at 452 (13%). In this displayed result, Evans holds a 100-vote lead.
Why an earlier article reported a tie
California58’s earlier election report documented an ABC7 snapshot showing Reyes and Evans each with 1,109 votes. That reflected a different tally, not a certified tie. The numbers reproduced in the newer NBC results table differ. Because the providers’ displayed totals may be captured at different times, the two should not be interpreted as consecutive official county updates unless the registrar’s timestamps confirm the sequence.
What about other Adelanto elections?
The city also has a council contest and local Measure P, with separately reported results. A mayoral vote does not determine council winners or whether a city ballot measure passes. Residents should consult each contest individually.
What to watch
San Bernardino County says results remain unofficial while the canvass continues, with final county certification due no later than December 3. A reported 100-vote margin may change after eligible mail and provisional ballots are counted. California58 does not declare a winner.
